In the 7^th century B.C. a new tradition of putting wreaths on walls and doors started. In those days the winners of Olympics wore crown of tree branches. It is assumed that athletes may used to hang their crowns on wall and it became a tradition. The word spring always comes in mind along with blossoming of flowers and renewal of life. You can welcome the spring by making different spring wreaths and decorate your house to give it a new look. Spring wreaths are the most popular holiday decoration of Easter and Mother's day. Homes and offices seem festive with spring wreaths hanged on doors during holidays.

There are various choices to make a spring wreath. You can make one of fresh seasonal flowers, pastel papers or egg wreath. The person who is interested in gardening can decorate the wreath with dried flowers like daffodils, pansies, pink roses, eucalyptus, or miniature carnations, fruits like apples or berries, or grape vines. All this stuff can be found from his or her own garden. The bird lover can add small decorate birds and berries to his wreath. Sea lover can add seashells, starfish or sea urchin shells to his wreath. You can gift your friends and family a spring wreath made by you.

You can make a spring wreath easily by yourself. Get a wreath made up of straw or grapevine. Select a suitable size. Now you have to select the colors of flowers you have to arrange on the wreath. You can find a bunch of artificial flowers in crafts stores. To hang the wreath on the door make a twist tie at the back of the wreath. Cut off the plastic stems of the flowers. To give a nice touch, cover the stems with floral tape. Take a ribbon of the color that coordinates well with the flowers and wrap the spring wreath. Twist the stems of the flowers to the wreath or use glue gun to secure the flowers. You can add some butterflies or bees to the wreath. The spring wreath is ready to hang on the door.

To make a spring wreath out of fresh flowers, first collect spring flowers like tulips, daffodils, roses, hydrangeas etc. take a foam wreath circle and soak it in water for few seconds. Cut the stems of the flowers to 3 inches and insert in the foam. Fill the whole foam with the flowers in this pattern. Wrap a floral wire around the top to hang the spring wreath.
